National family learning conference I online

Family Learning Conference – Building effective parental engagement in learning
14 November 2024 | 9.30am-2.00pm | Online

This national Family Learning conference will be exploring parental engagement in learning.

Parental engagement in learning is the single most important factor to ensuring all children and young people are to become brilliant, motivated and creative learners and confident thinkers. If we are serious about education equality, then as educators and policy makers we have to build partnerships with parents and families around children's learning.

Together with our speakers, we’ll be looking at what effective parental engagement is and looks like, the strategies we can use and how they can be integrated and embedded into practice.

Confirmed speakers:

  • Cat Jones, Doctoral Researcher, University of Warwick (Keynote) – Cat will present new research findings into teachers’ views on parental engagement and training for parental engagement
  • Family Learning, Education Scotland – Education Scotland will explain how Scotland has increased parental engagement in learning through their policy changes and a focus on family learning approaches which has influenced practice.
